get to know katrina x
1. tell us about yourself!
hiya, you can call me kat :) my yoga journey started as a means of grounding and recentering amidst the hustle and bustle of life, but over time, it’s become a practice of returning home to myself — through body, breath, and awareness.
beyond yoga, I enjoy exploring all things heart, body, mind and spirit. really just connecting and creating alignment from within so that I can live more consciously and intentionally. you’ll also find me facilitating experiential learning activities, or meaningful conversations. my latest love is human design - a tool for personal empowerment and inner alignment. if you’re curious to find out more, have a chat with me!
2. what do you teach here at ahimsa & how would you describe your teaching style?
currently… gentle flow, ahimsa flow and breathe & restore!
I like to keep things slow and conscious, focusing on breath and alignment cues to help you get (re)connected within. (though I speed it up when there’s a good reason to!) I also believe the energy I bring sets the tone, so I do my best to show up present, grounded and calm so that I can hold a safe space for your personal practise.
3. what is your favourite food at ahimsa?
ahhh it’s so hard to answer this question!! there’s so much I love. but if I have to name a few… tomato dipper, what the guac, sassy me, along with any acai and smoothie bowls ❤️
4. what is your favourite class to attend at ahimsa?
hmm I actually don’t have a favourite because I choose classes based on what I feel I need that day. ahimsa flow when I’m feeling good and want to move, gentle flow when I’m feeling a little heavy or tired and need something softer, and breathe & restore when I’m in need of conscious rest. I appreciate how there’s always something for every version of me :)
5. what animal best represents you?
my friends have described me as a chipmunk when I’m eating… but, I’d say a cat, or even a red panda - generally mellow and calm, but kinda quirky once you get to know me.
