sushma is a Karnatik vocalist and singer-songwriter whose work combines her Karnatik training with storytelling and exploring personal experiences through music. recognised as one of Singapore’s “10 Women Leaders in Music,” she is a recipient of the Young Artist Award, Singapore’s highest honour for young arts practitioners.
her acclaimed album HOME, created with composer and musician aditya prakash, explored themes of environment and sustainability. described as “one of the finest albums about environment and wildlife” in 2022, it received international recognition with tracks featured on the BBC, NHK Japan, Rolling Stone India, and Songlines magazine.
her latest release, THE MOUNTAIN HAS THE LAST SAY, an EP written and composed by sushma and produced by aditya prakash, was created after the passing of her husband, drawing on her original Tamil poetry to reflect on grief, loss, and healing. The…
